World Book Day

We will be celebrating World Book Day in school this year on Tuesday 28th February. Our Academy Council have been busy planning the events of the day and we are sure that it will be a very fun day for all the children with great activities on offer.

- We will be holding a ‘Write a story or Comic strip’ competition – More details will follow shortly for this. Please look out for the posters around school coming soon
- There will be an opportunity on the day for all children to read together with a partner from partner from another class.
- Our Academy Council are in the process of designing a World Book Day Quiz which will be put on to the school website on the day for any children to take part in. There will be prizes up for grabs!
- Children will receive a World Book Day Voucher which they can take to various book shops to exchange for a free book!

On the day, children can come to school dressed up as their favourite story book character. This doesn’t need to be a bought costume, we encourage homemade outfits! There is an abundance of ideas on the internet for making a costume at home including a wearing a black/white stripy top and a black mask for Burglar Bill, a red/white stripy top and hat and some black glasses for Where’s Wally or a Blue dress and a red bow for Matilda. We have also added some ideas into the Notice boards around school.
