  • Sports Day

    We hope the parents enjoyed our sports day as much as the pupil and staff did. The children took part in lots of events including the water race, sack race, space hoppers and lots more.

    The green team were the winners this year but we would like to congratulation all the children who took part and made it a fantastic day.

     

     

  • Picnic in the Playground

    16th July 2017

    To mark the end of the Summer term bring along your picnics,  blankets, and plenty of cake to join us for a  picnic in the playground.

    There will be sports activities, dancing, face painting, a magician, an ice cream van and much more. Due to safeguarding, when you arrive for the picnic please come to the main reception door where you will be directed to collect your child from their classroom.

    Should you wish your child to leave school with another parent, please contact the school to give your permission.

     

  • Student's First Aid Training

    30th June 2017

    FS2 to Year 5 pupils will be taking part in a student’s first aid training course on Monday 3rd July and learning what to do in an emergency.

    Some of the pupils will also have the opportunity to learn the core skills needed to deal with first aid issues including choking, asthma, fainting and how to put someone into the recovery position.

     

  • Years 4, 5 & 6 Open Evening at Portland

    30th June 2017

    Outwood Academy Portland have an Open Evening for families who have children in Year 4, 5 and 6 on Tuesday 4th July between 4.30pm and 7pm.  

    Staff will be showcasing their subjects and giving you a  taster of what you can expect if you join the academy.

    There will be a presentation for Years 4 and 5 at 5.00pm and for Year 6 at 6.00pm in the main hall.

     

  • Sports Day

    30th June 2017

    FS2 - Year 6 - Please ensure your child wears their school uniform on sports day but remember to bring their house colour t-shirt, shorts and trainers with them. If they are unsure which house they are in please ask them to check with their teacher.

    FS1 - Please can children come to school for their sports day in appropriate sports clothing and trainers.

     

  • Bikeability Certificates

    19th June 2017

    Congratulations to all the children that took part in the balance bike bikeability training over the last couple of weeks. The children were all given stickers and will also receive a certificate.

    All certificates will be presented to the children on Friday 23rd June as follows:

    FS1 children at 11.40am in their classroom,

    FS2 and Year 1 children in the celebration assembly at 8.55am in the main hall.

     

  • Cake Sale

    19th June 2017

    On Friday 23rd June our enterprising Year 6 librarians will be baking and selling cakes during break times to raise money towards brightening up the school library. There will also be ice pops available for sale.

  • Family Photographs

    19th June 2017

    Jane Stapleton Photographers will be in school on Wednesday 12th July  at the Academy Open Afternoon to take family/friends  photographs from 3.00pm until 6.00pm. If you would like your family to attend a session please contact the School Office and they will be able to arrange an  appointment time.

    Every family attending can purchase a 16 x 12” print for just £10.00.

     

  • Father's Day Lunch

    Thank you to all the Dads, Grandads and Uncles that joined  us for our Fathers Day lunch today. We hope you all had a  lovely time and enjoyed it as much as we did.

     

  • Scholastics Book Fair

    Just a reminder that the Scholastics book fair will be in school from Monday 12th June until Thursday 16th June and will be open in a morning from 8.40am until 8.50am and after school from 3.00pm in the Dining Room.

     

     

  • Science In A Suitcase

    7th June 2017

    This week the children had the opportunity to explore the world of science. They took part in lots of fun experiments and activities throughout the day including learning about the science behind bubbles, 3D illusions and magnetic sculptures. Niamh Russell in Year 2 said “My favourite activity was when we had to shake a bottle with coffee beans and an egg in it to see if the egg would come to the top”, this was part of the gravity experiment.

     

     

  • Balance Bike Training

    6th June 2017

    Our Foundation and Year 1 children had fun on balance bikes this week as part of their bikeability training. “We got to ride around the hall on bikes” said Jack Layden, it was really good added Lilly Weatherall both in FS2.

    They are all really looking forward to their second session next week.

     

  • Be Safe In The Sun

    Summer is fast approaching and the weather is getting warmer. Please ensure that your child has adequate sun care e.g. a hat and sun cream and also has a bottle of  water.

  • Years 1 - 3 Swim Safe Campaign

    9th May 2017

    Kingston Park Academy are taking part in this year’s Swim Safe Campaign.

    We will be asking pupils in Years 1—3 to design a BPL Swim Safe poster in class using a template of Derek the Dolphin. We will also be holding a Swim Safe assembly for the whole school and we will hopefully be visited by a very special guest. 

    The idea behind the campaign is to educate young people of the dangers of playing in a fun and engaging way.

     

     

  • Year 2 Street Detectives

    9th May 2017

    As part of Year 2’s topic this term they will be having a special math’s lesson outside next week where they will be collecting information about the traffic on Long Lane.

    Also this term they will have an exciting opportunity to be real life street detectives as they go out and about and explore the local areas.

     

     

  • Year 6 SATs Week and Breakfast Club

    It is now time for all the Year 6 children to use all their weeks of hard work as SATs Week is finally here. We would  like to wish all the children good luck in their  SATs tests, we know you will all do us proud.

    Don’t forget to arrive at 8am Monday to Thursday for your special SATs breakfast club.

     

     

  • Our Living Eggs Experience

    26th April 2017

    The eight healthy chicks have now left Kingston Park Academy and moved on to new homes. Whilst they were here, each class visited the chicks and the staff and children thoroughly enjoyed watching the eggs hatch and the chicks grow. They have  also had the opportunity to handle them and give them names. We are sure the    children will remember the experience for a long time.

     

     

  • Foundation 1 Library Visit

    25th April 2017

    Carlton library are holding a special Rattle, Rhyme and Roll session on the Friday 12th May from 9.10am and would like to invite our Foundation 1 nursery children and their parents.

    They will be joined by a very special visitor, the Bookstart bear who will take part in some of the rhymes and the children will also have the opportunity to have their photograph with him.
